Modern Outdoor Flower Pots and Planters

Looking to take your garden to the next level with a little modern style? It isn’t especially hard to do. One of the best ways to go modern is through the use of unique pots and planters. You want to go for somewhat minimal looks or looks that are striking to the eye.

Here are a few options you may want to consider, each with different aspects to really enhance your outdoor space and turn it into the modern meditative mecca you desire.

Box Hill Large Square Planter

One of the more obvious aspects of modern design is the concept of smooth lines. You don’t really want anything with jagged edges because then you’re getting into industrial. With the Box Hill Large Square Planter, you’re getting a beautiful set of mid-century modern planters. The color is dark but warm, and the smooth edges of the tall pots give a feeling of flow and movement. It is constructed with  Zinc-coated Steel which is known to prevent steel or iron from rusting in addition to the design detail. To avoid a completely homogenous look, circular knobs are placed on the base; just a little something to draw the eye. Since the set comes with two pots, you can either place them all in one spot or spread them around your outdoor space, helping each area feel connected with this focal point. If you think you can use something like this in your life, learn more about it here.

Want to put a new face on your back patio? If so, these pots make a real statement. (I’m full of puns today.) On a more serious note, these pots really work to grab some attention. This is one of our top-selling modern planters, almost harkening back to the ’80s and the days of Lipps Inc. You’d think that would make it retro, but those styles are coming back, and it’s still pretty modern, in general. Not only do they feature the smooth lines of modern styles, but the unique design aspect is also almost futuristic. Functionally, the size of these pots is also quite good. A couple of the biggest containers at 22 inches wide, or even the medium ones at 16 inches, would make for good large outdoor flower pots. The depth allows for great water seepage to make sure your plants can live long lives. There are a couple of different color options and it’s good to keep in mind that, over time, they will weather and begin to become even more unique. And the smaller one is great to help bring your plants inside. If these are kissing the creative parts of your brain, click here to learn more.

Sarinac Garden Planter

One thing which sort of screams modern is size. If you’ve got extra large plant pots, you can have some nice, striking plants which will draw plenty of attention. Combine that with a bit of minimalism and you’re looking at something sure to turn heads. The 25-inch pot can hold small shrubs, young trees, or groups of flowers. I could see this being especially impressive with multiple types of flowers in varying colors. While this pot is available in multiple colors, each of those colors would stand up well to the brightness of flowers. Perhaps some red and blue flowers with some nice grasses would really make this pop. Apart from the size, the smooth face and rounded edges truly bring some class and modern style to the table. Alegre Planter in Indigo Rain

Alegre Planter Set of 3 in Indigo Rain by Outdoor Art Pros

I really like pieces that are unique, and such is the case with the Alegre Planter in Indigo Rain. Its design saves floor space while giving life to a wall that might otherwise be a bit drab. The fiber cement used for the shape has a great color of Indigo Rain and smoothness which speaks to a modern element. Additionally, the material used is lighter than your standard sort of cement, so moving it around shouldn’t be all that bad. While it would look nice with greens in it, I think flowers would be an incredible option for this planter. You could even add some functionality to it by using it as a herb garden. In doing so, you make it useful as well as lovely. If the height is something you need in your life, learn more about this here.

M Weave Garden Bench

M Weave Garden Bench by Outdoor Art Pros

This planter sort of takes it in the opposite direction, to some extent. What good is a bench you can’t sit on? Though, I suppose when it comes to the M Weave Garden Bench, the answer to that depends on where you want to place it.  The style, though, is interesting. In a way, its the most perfect wonderful addition to any garden settings that features interlocking curves with a bold woven pattern inspired by basket weave designs in the supporting base making a stylish touch. This unique design, like something you might see when nature has begun to once again creep into the modern world. It reminds me of a home that has been abandoned but still retains an inviting beauty to it in its peacefulness. It will make a bold statement and bring something interesting to your outdoor space. Going modern doesn’t have to be difficult. You can also match them with a modern water fountain and transform your backyard into an oasis. These planters would compliment any type of Buddha Art as well to enhance the Zen in your space.  There are many options out there to achieve your goal. The nice thing about the “modern” style is that it isn’t necessarily anything specific. As seen in these examples, you can go with curves or straight lines, but minimalism is key. You don’t want extravagant designs or anything which might detract from the beauty which you can find within the planter. Embracing nature is a modern concept derived from an ancient love of life.

The Most Popular Outdoor Frog Decorations

We all love getting the chance to deck out our gardens with things that we love, but also things that we think friends and relatives will like also. Which can often lead to some disagreement and flexibility needing in regard to what and how you kit out your garden.

Something everyone loves is a water feature. There are fewer more soothing noises than hearing the sound of running water trickling through your garden, be that from the pond of an additional water feature like a fountain.

Fountain’s come in all different shapes and sizes. It’s a huge market with plenty of different niches and styles for each person - you will surely find something you like at the local DIY and garden store.

One of the best-loved themes in the market are frogs. The lovely little critters are like a mascot to the back garden. If you have a pond out in your backyard, you will likely have met some of these little guys. Check out some of our favourite frog ornaments for the garden below.

Bali Frog Water Fountain

A beautifully basic water fountain, this Bali Frog fountain is small but classic looking. The space at the bottom below the frog fountain is a place for plants and shrubbery, and while the water is held there too, this offers the perfect opportunity to feed your plants and leave you doing little, too! The water comes from the frog’s mouth, with the decorative number here shown to be sat next to a door in the back garden, but this could also be used anywhere else around the home. The recirculation of water independently means that no plumbing is needed, all you need to be able to do is plug it into a power circulation close to the placement. Designed and manufactured in the USA, this fibre-reinforced stone is available in a whole multitude of colours, meaning that it would suit almost any home, regardless of colour scheme.

Zen III Garden Water Fountain

We love this style of fountain because it’s a little different from any others. The frogs on this ornament are towards the bottom, and just look at how cool they look! The three frogs are clearly in a state of zen - hence why this fountain is called Zen 3 - and it’s a unique and cool change from other frog ornaments for the garden. The fountain above the frogs is also really neat, and while there’s nothing too exciting about the rounded bowl, this only adds to how cool the frogs below look. Similar to the fountain above, this piece doesn’t need any internal plumbing, it can act independently of a water supply if loaded with water and given additional power. Another benefit of these great fountains is that they are easy to take care of. There’s a wide selection of colours available to choose from, yet I would argue the colour chosen in this picture is the best for most gardens. If you are looking to bring some zen to your yard this statue is sure to do it for you.

Frog Metal Fountain

I was really excited about looking at this frog ornament and I’m sure you can see why. This is completely different compared to the two pieces above, but it’s also unique is a style to a lot of the other fountains on the market. The rustic look really suits this style, and the colors that you can see within the frog are original while still looking appropriate to the actual color of the animal. The water from this fountain squirts from the mouth onto an open lotus leaf which funnels the water through the brown bowl that the frog sits on. The ultimately vibrant style in which this ornament is would only suit certain people. It’s not a classic look but still looks classy in itself. This small and light ornament can be picked up and moved around (it only weighs 7lbs) and could also be used inside the house or greenhouse area. The recirculating pump is included in the fountain and does not need external plumbing.

Wine Time Cast Stone Garden Statue

Wine Time Cast Stone Garden Statue by Outdoor Pros

This is a cute and classy little frog statue that will be popular with older generations who are looking for some classic character in their garden statues and ornaments, while still looking homely and smart. These two sweet guys are enjoying the summer sun while sipping their tea, exchanging some thoughts and visions to the things around them. This would fit in fantastically with a perfectly kept garden. I can imagine it sitting below some beautiful hanging pots in and complementing other ornaments across the garden scenery. The awesome craftsmanship and detail on this piece will leave a great mark on your garden. I think you would be able to easily imagine this within your own garden leaving it with a classic look throughout.

Frankie Frog Cast Stone Garden Statue

The final ornament here is another classic looking piece in a similar vein to the one above. This frog, sitting naturally as if taking the beauty of the surroundings would fit naturally in its classic habitat next to a pond or near some plants on a mound of soil. The material of the frog is made to weather naturally in the rain, giving this piece a classic and worn look that looks good outdoors, as opposed to something that rusts or changes color unnaturally over time. Available in a range of colors all complimenting the outdoors perfectly, I think this piece would fit naturally in any frog-lovers back garden. A timeless piece.

If you’re indeed someone who loves frogs and the amphibious side of the animal kingdom, you’ll be left delighted with some of the cooler options we’ve had above. With all these great options you're sure to bring some nature into your yard. Whether it is a fountain you’re looking for or merely a small statue to reflect your love for frogs, there’s something above for almost any palate. Why not introduce these frogs to your own environment soon and begin your collection in style? Whether it’s next to a flowerbed or on the side of your pond, there’s always somewhere to stick these little green fellows. Add a little character to your beautiful back garden.
