Questions & AnswersAsk a Question
Hello. A few questions: 1. Are the fountains in the rain series suitable for outside use or do they need special protection? 2. Can they tolerate winter temps on the East Coast? What is the minimum temp for them? 3. Re the disclaimer about hairline cracks: is it possible that water could get in there and freeze making larger cracks? Thanks!
Thank you for your questions!
Yes! These fountains are designed to be outside.
Here is a link to the maintenance page we have on our website: Winter Care - Cast Stone Fountains And Birdbaths, for your reference.
If it is possible for you to bring the fountain inside to avoid any freezing that would be best.
Otherwise, follow the winterizing instructions carefully and ensure all water is removed from the fountain, pump, and tubing during winter months.
If the winterizing instructions are followed properly, the designed hairline cracks shouldn't be an issue, as winterizing should remove any trace of water from the fountain.

This product may be packaged with a wood fiber material which may contain wood dust.
It is very important for you to protect your cast stone and pottery fountains, birdbaths, planters and statuary from the freeze-thaw cycle during the winter months. Ideally, cast stone and pottery décor that can collect water, should not be left outside when temperatures dip down to freezing. They should be stored indoors or in a dry protected place such as a covered porch or garage that is away from the elements. This is not always possible, so it is recommended that you completely dry out your décor and add a waterproof cover. This is because any cast stone or pottery component that can hold water and freeze has the potential to crack and crumble. Components such as fountain pedestals which remain in a basin/pool can also crack or crumble.
