Eco-friendly fiber cement planters are composed of cement and jute fiber that replaces the stone aggregate that is traditionally used in cast stone. This creates a strong and durable planter that weighs 25% less than traditional cast stone
Box Hill Rectangle Planter Features:
- Constructed out of durable Zinc-coated Steel***
- Drainage is provided by gaps in the 4 corners between the zinc plate and the bottom of the planter
- Planters are not designed for direct planting and are intended to be used with an interior grow pot or liner
- Suitable for outdoor use
***The zinc coating process begins by taking the cleaned steel planter and dipping it into a bath zinc coating. This process is known as hot-dip galvanizing. The purpose of the coating is to prevent steel or iron from rusting in addition to the design detail.

It is very important for you to protect your cast stone and pottery fountains, birdbaths, planters and statuary from the freeze-thaw cycle during the winter months. Ideally, cast stone and pottery décor that can collect water, should not be left outside when temperatures dip down to freezing. They should be stored indoors or in a dry protected place such as a covered porch or garage that is away from the elements. This is not always possible, so it is recommended that you completely dry out your décor and add a waterproof cover. This is because any cast stone or pottery component that can hold water and freeze has the potential to crack and crumble. Components such as fountain pedestals which remain in a basin/pool can also crack or crumble.
